Available for: Single Files
This tool works with the New From Template feature. It lets you pick a file and add it immediately to your available template files.
To add a file to your templates:
- Right click any single file and choose Add To Templates from the ShellToys XP menu.
- Enter a name for the file. The name you choose will appear on the New From Template menu along with the file's icon. (If you choose a name that already exists, you'll be offered the choice of replacing the older file or picking a different name.)
- Click OK and the file will be copied to your personal Templates folder.
About the Templates folder
The Add To Templates/New From Template features work on a per-user basis. When you add your first template using the steps above, ShellToys creates a folder in its installation folder using the name currently logged on to Windows. Inside that it creates a folder called Templates. The items you see on the New From Template menu are the items in your own user-folder. Of course you can add and remove files from this folder by hand, but ShellToys provides an Add/Remove Templates dialog to make it easier.
